Cervical Cancer screening is done daily from Mondays to Fridays. The service is free to HIV+ mothers but others have to pay for it. Those with positive VIA (Visual Inspection under Acetic Acid) are done Cryotherapy. They are followed at six weeks and at six months. At six weeks, VIA is repeated. When it is still positive, a 2nd Cryotherapy is done. When it persists to be positive, a biopsy is done. Staging is done for positive biopsies. For early stages of cervical cancer, total abdominal hysterectomy is done. Mothers are referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital for those beyond 4th stage of cancer.
